about

Jordan: Boiiiiii if I didn't get pissed off writing this song.

First verse basically branches off the theme of "That Ain't Me", but more talking about some of these no-substance ass rappers. Pretty well self explanatory verse.

Second verse, we start getting into the personal shit. So for the background, I was doing a couple shows last summer, and I was having a good ol' time. Pre-game, I'd chill with dude who got me my spot in the show at his house, and a bunch of his friends and shit. All local cats, so I knew everybody pretty well. Dudes we were hanging with were talking all this game about how they're about to go and turn the fuck up to support us, and they don't even end up going. So I get to thinking, you know, whatever, stuff comes up. It's cool, no hard feelings. Then we have an after party right after the show, and they have the nerve to be the first ones back to the house. And you know, I'd give them benefit of the doubt again, but problem is they did that TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. Got me heated. So anyways, I'm just like whatever, but then the artist who put me onto the show posts on Facebook about shooting a video for the song that they got me on, and guess who the first motherfuckers who asked about being in it were. You guessed it. HEATED

Third verse, you thought that last thing pissed me off. BOIIIIIII

So no exaggeration, this guy was one of my BEST homies since my 8th grade year. Been through everything with me, some of the hardest personal and relationship issues, including a house fire. We were tight. Then, summer '15 comes around, which is what most of this EP is based around. That fact alone should tell you about how dark this time in my life was. Rock bottom. And right near the very worst part of it, this guy kicks me out of the house. I'm paying my bills and all that, so the reason he kicks me out is because I have a girl over. No exaggeration. I'm still cool with his wife, she told me straight up that's the reason I got kicked out. So I'm homeless because homeboy wanted to go on a power trip during literally the worst part of my life to date. Then, the real funny part is about September of '16, he catches me out pumping my gas one day, and we catch up a minute, but he started the conversation with "I ain't seen you around in a while man, you been ducking the homie." Anyone who makes me HOMELESS is not the homie for an undetermined amount of time. Out of here with THAT.

Default: The only beat that swirl and Jordan didn't do haha. This beat is a banger and it actually replaced a joint Jordan had called "Ease Up" that was gonna be track four but due to conflicts with the feature it didn't pan out. So this was a replacement and it works better than we anticipated. We didn't really add a whole lot to the formula on this. Jordan added what he wanted to say and it just sounds like this big anthem saying "Fuck anyone who kicks me in the dirt or tries to bring fake shit around me" it's got some of my favorite lines in it too. Crazy song.

lyrics

[Verse One]
Never gave a fuck when y'all came weak
Then I came up from that same speak
Didn't know til I rocked the show and got hoes,
Y'all Pocket Monsters like GameFreak
Want a homie on the throne? Don't hold your breath
Knowing that the flow be as cold as death.
I just wanna rock and roll 'til I'm known from Summit to A Street if you're going west.
Blowing gas, got A.C. Ces
Going in for the kill with a trap set
In a moment, pose in yo casket
We the future of the game, you the past tense.
Don't be comin' 'round the killa if you thinking it's hot
Saying you got bars? All you get is a shot
Fuck it, I come with the ruckus, I don't be low key
Hit you with 22 9's like my D.O.B.

[Hook x2]
Keep talking 'bout what y'all thought you knew.
Do what you gotta do,
I'ma just keep going.
Funny how I never got a text or call,
Only want me when the check's involved
I'ma just keep going.

[Verse Two]
Y'all can't roll up to free show
But same night, you can roll up all the weed though?
All the buddy shit fake as fuck,
Never there, didn't care when it came to us.
Hit a stage, lit it very hot
Saying you'd be there, but there you not
Had the girls looking high to a Cherry Ave guy
They looking out to get they cherry popped
Want me at the party but I didn't show
My girl, she was worried 'bout me getting home
Woke up and they hit my phone
Talkin' 'bout "let me get up in the video!"
Fuck that, not how the crew works
Middle finger in the air, don't ask for new perks
Never looking for a shovel when asked to do dirt
That's the phony shit that gets you merc'd
So here's what I learned:
No one ever got hot that's scared to get burnt
Better scale back, I'll blast the tool first
I remember every name that's there when you weren't.

[Hook x2]
Keep talking 'bout what y'all thought you knew
Do what you gotta do
I'ma just keep going
Funny how I never got a text or call
Only want me when the checks involved
I'ma just keep going

[Verse Three]
Rough year, all whack
Rock bottom and I'm crawling back
One smoke, life called for that
Come back, how do y'all react?
I'm left with no home, thank y'all for that
Face down, now I'm falling flat
Left me sleeping in a pontiac
Said I'm "ducking the homie", bitch, don't call me that
Sit back, finna catch a diss track
This that shit that'll get you bitch slapped
Wanna trip? Get ripped like gift wrap
I gift rap when I spit the shit that's
Catnip for the DatPiff and DopeBoyz
Active, try'na track this for gold coins
Yeah, and I bless the beat
Go hard so a mothafucka press repeat
And y'all ain't stressing me
So I'll keep flexing
These, cats try'na get the best for me
Anybody else, rest in peace
And to those that I wrote this shit
I'ma tell y'all, take notes, don't forget
Slow down, grab ahold of the brakes
Cause I ain't never been a homie to fakes
